MONO-STRIPE ALBINO (Selectively Bred)

Nick Smith began developing this selectively bred cross in 2003 by combining a Coastal Albino with a normal type Bay of LA rosy. Some of the het albino offspring exhibited faded lateral striping. Smith bred these back to each other and produced Albinos. The dorsal striping on these albinos presented the expected orange coloration but lateral stripes presented as a very faded lavender color. This mono-stripe trait has been refined over multiple generations diminishing the lateral stripes almost completely.  The adult Mono-Stripe Albino has a slightly jagged bright orange stripe running its dorsal length.  Background color is light yellow-white with some sporadic very light lavender speckling. Eye color shows a striking red pupil on a very light pink iris.
